We are looking for a skilled and motivated Managing Director to lead Monaliiku – Well-being and Sports for Multicultural Women. 

As Managing Director, you will be responsible for the organization’s strategic and operational leadership, financial management, team support, and the development and implementation of programs and projects – particularly the Elämäni Kunnossa program. 

Monaliiku is a non-profit organization that promotes the well-being and active lifestyle of multicultural women and girls in Finland. Our work is guided by the principles of equality, inclusion, and community. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategic leadership: Implement and develop the organization's strategy and monitor long-term goals together with the board. 

  • Financial management: Budgeting, reporting, preparing financial plans, and securing funding (e.g., through project applications). 

  • Team leadership: Organizing the team, supporting staff, and fostering a positive work environment. 

  • Program and project management: Planning and implementing activities, especially the Elämäni Kunnossa program. 

  • Stakeholder collaboration and advocacy: Managing relationships with authorities, partners, and the media. 

  • Risk management and compliance: Monitoring legislation and regulations to ensure responsible and transparent operations. 

We Expect From You 

  • A relevant higher education degree (e.g., NGO administration, social sciences, business) 

  • Experience in leadership or a strong willingness to grow into a leadership role 

  • Knowledge of financial management and fundraising 

  • Experience in project coordination or NGO work 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Good command of Finnish and English (other languages are an asset) 

  • Commitment to promoting multiculturalism and equality

  • Experience in sports or physical activity organizations 

  • Project management skills 

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team 

  • Genuine interest in supporting well-being and community engagement

Other Important Information 

  • Contract type: Permanent 

  • Working hours: 37.5 hours/week. Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required. 

  • Workplace: Our office is located at Mäkelänkatu 54 B, 3rd floor, 00510 Helsinki 

  • Start date: The new Managing Director is expected to start on August 1, 2025 

  • Probationary period: 6 months 

  • Collective agreement: The position follows the Collective Agreement for Sports Organizations
