Module Overview
Mentor on the Move (MOTM) is an EU-funded international project that aims to make sports more inclusive for women with a migration background through a mentoring programme developed with project partners from Romania, Great Britain, Greece, Spain, Belgium, and Finland.
The project's priorities are to promote the well-being, health and personal development of the women by fostering more inclusive and culturally aware sporting possibilities. The project has a particular focus on women with a migration background in vulnerable positions.
This module will give you background knowledge about migration and inclusion, and more specifically about the barriers and needs of women with a migrant background in sport participation.

- Understand the difference between key concepts such as migrant vs refugee, integration vs inclusion.
- Learn about intersectionality and how it impacts the inclusion of women with a migrant background.
- Identify the barriers women with a migrant background face to participate in sports.
- Learn about the inclusive aspects of sport and how to promote participation of women with a migrant background in sport.
