A small winter adventure: our Hiihtokoulu day

On Thursday, 26.2.2026, we had a lovely winter activity- a Hiihtokoulu (ski school) organized as part of the SporttiStartti program.
The participants were between 9 and 16 years old, so the group included girls of different ages. But that did not matter at all, the activity was equally enjoyable for everyone.
For some girls it was their first time trying skiing. At the beginning there were a few shy smiles and careful steps on the skis, but very soon the atmosphere became relaxed and joyful.
There was laughter, a few funny moments when someone lost balance, and many small victories when the girls realized: “Yes, I can do this!”

The whole activity went very smoothly. The girls supported each other, encouraged one another and listened carefully to the instructor. Even though it was a winter sport, the atmosphere felt warm and friendly.
We also received very nice feedback from the participants, which motivates us to continue doing what we do. Many of the girls said they really enjoyed the activity and would love to try skiing again or continue learning it!
Moments like this remind us that sport is not only about movement - it is also about courage, friendship and discovering something new about yourself.
We are very happy that the day went so well and that everyone had fun and we are already looking forward to the next activities together!
Because sometimes a simple winter afternoon can become a small adventure, and maybe even the beginning of a new hobby!
